Angel Josiah Rodriguez was being cared for by family members in East Haven on Sunday, Oct. 6, when he was left unattended in a tub, police said. The boy's mother, who is from Ansonia, was not at the Redfield Avenue home when the boy died.

Paramedics were called to the home around 9 p.m. and rushed him to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead about an hour later, police said.

Investigators have previously said they do not suspect foul play, and everyone at the home remained at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
